In Year 5 pupils will study novels and stories by significant children’s authors, instructional writing, traditional stories, fables, myths and legends and film narrative.In addition they will also be tested in reading, writing and spelling-this takes 3 days to complete and results are used as a baseline to measure future progress.

Year 6 pupils will study fiction genres, biography and autobiography, journalistic writing, and imagery. In addition, they will also undertake their first mock SATs practice.
